There are people that are struggling with traffic, they can’t drive enough traffic to their sites in order to make money.

There are many ways to generate traffic and for some of them you have to pay, but today I want to talk about how you can drive free traffic to your blog.

Just think about free exposure, think about how you can be in front of your prospects giving them a strong message that makes them visit your site.

There are many ways to do this, here are some ways:

1. Create a blog and start to add content, submit your posts to the different Social Media Sites (Digg, Delicious, Propeller, etc) and encourage your readers to do it too.

2. Add more value to your blog feed it using Feedburner.

3. Open an account with MyBlogLog, start a group, particpate, do friends and invite people to visit your blog.

4. Claim your blog at Technorati – it is a kind of Search Engine for blogs.

5. Ping your new entries – Pingomatic, Pingoat.

6. Submit your blog to the different blog directories.

7. Submit your RSS Feed to the different RSS Feed directories.

8. Create a Podcast show and submit it to the different podcast directories. Podpress is a good service to use if you are using WordPress.

9. Invite people to leave comments on your blog and reply to the comments.

10. Contact other bloggers in your niche and ask them permission to write articles on their blogs.

11. Make a weekly appointment with your readers, it could be something like this: “How To Drive More Free Traffic To Your Blog Wednesdays” – every Wednesday you talk about this.

12. Create a contest and offer a great prize for the winners.

13. Use Trackback – Basically it is about sharing with your readers your personal opinion about posts you read on other people’s blog.

14. Use keywords.

15. Use images – your post can be crawled by Google images.

16. Announce news.

17. Interview experts.

18. Create a series of teleseminars.

19. Join Blog Carnival – basically it collects together links pointing to blog articles on a particular topic.

20. Use BlogRush – Add the widget to your blog.

How Microblogging works:

It keeps others updated using short posts – usually less than 200 characters – and sometimes pictures and videos about what you are doing.

Your friends or subscribers can read your post online, request an instant message to their desktops or an SMS text message to their mobile devices. Your messages can be open to the public, or only for those who you want to get them.

You can do friends and add them to your profile just like you do with MySpace, then you can create relationships with them.

You can syndicate your RSS feeds from your blog, you can ping your feed – it notifies Search Engines that you updated.

There are different microblogging sites – Twitter.com, Pownce.com, Jaiku.com, Tumblr.com. But they have the same concept and all are free.

How do you monetize your microblogging activity?

Well, it is a kind of viral marketing because you can spread the word about what you are promoting very easy. Also, if you have a blog you can use microblogging as a supplementation to your blog, you post a brief description of your latest blog post and a link.

No matter what you are promoting, it could be cost per action (CPA), Affiliate Programs or selling your own product it works. The only thing you have to do is getting friends, posting your short description and the link poting to the page you want people to visit. It means more traffic and money.

So, if you are not microblogging you’re leaving money on the table. If you want more traffic and money start Microblogging RIGHT NOW!

Please, leave your comments and if you like this post submit it to your favorites social bookmarking sites.

If you already started your blog, you might as well think of commercializing it. Yes! Your blog can earn money for you. However, you need to think if you want to work on monetizing your blog or not. In order to draw a lot of readers, users and browsers to your blog, you need to create valuable and interesting articles.

Here are some good ideas to monetize your blog:

   • Contextual Advertising
   • Displaying Ads – Google Adsense or alternatives
   • Selling Advertising Space
   • Promoting Affiliate Programs
   • Selling your Content
   • Promoting your own Products

The ones listed above are just a few methods to monetize your blog. Advertising is the most popular blog monetization method. Google Adsense caters contextual advertising. You can also work with ad networks that have CPM display advertising. This simply means, you earn with every ad viewed on your blog. To get more variety from your ads, its essential that you use multiple display ad networks. Do not let one network control your inventory if you want to earn a big amount of money.

One more method is Target Advertising. In this way, companies will pay you good rates just to advertise on your blog. You can also sell the content of your blog and get a good income from it. All you have to do is to package and then sell it. Selling products on your blog is also a great way. You can try selling t-shirts, clothing, mugs, or other merchandise that coincides with your topic.

You can also find a publishing company and put your short stories or poems up for sale on your blog. However, if you want to sell downloadable products like e-books then you can add e-commerce, SSL, fraud prevention or digital delivery.

You do not need to be a programmer or webmaster to successful earn from your blog. You only need a lot of traffic for your blog to be a successful one. Traffic is so important because your income depends on it. If you double the traffic, then you double the income too. The more users visit your blog, the more ad clicks, more affiliates sales and more product sales. Getting a lot of traffic is a big challenge. But hey, it’s not time to give up yet.

It will take you a lot of work to monetize your blog well. Having a good traffic can also help out. The best method to monetize your blog is through affiliate programs and selling your products online. For me, the latter is much more interesting though because it is your own original work or your own original product. There is always that sense of pride when you know you sell your own product and work.

Thanks,

What is a Blog?

A weblog, which is commonly known as blog, is kind of like an online journal or diary. With a blog you can post a specific topic and give tips or advice. Some even call it their lair or world because a blog mostly speaks of topics they are interested in.

Some blogs that are written tell about what happened within the day or emotional feelings. Some blogs contain political views, fitness or real estate. There is a wide variety of topics for you to choose from. When making a blog, you will see the list of articles you have previously posted. You will be able to access previous blogs in the archives.

Blog entries are organized and could be accessed by month. What is good about these blogs is that the software used in weblogs automatically organizes your articles the way you like it. You also need not to know about HTML to start a blog.

Choosing a topic for your blog is a bit confusing since there are a lot of topics to choose from. So, you have to think which topic are you most passionate about? Which topic are you interested in? Here is a list of suggested topics for you to choose from:

• Movies
• Parenting
• Finance
• Dieting
• Celebrities
• Gadgets and Electronics
• Parenting
• Politics
• Celebrities
• Music
• Art
• Recipes
• Real Estate
• Home Improvement

These are just a few topics for you to choose from. If you have a topic in mind, feel free to write about it. Some blogs even contain different topics so as not to bore their readers.

The important thing in picking a topic is your level of interest on it. Some blogs even die out in a month or two because the writer lost interest in the topic he chose.

How often should you update a blog?

You should try at least one single entry a day. A blog that is updated make visitors come back again and again. Updates and new entries will keep visitors interested. What is more important is the quality and type of material you are posting. It is suggested that you make your articles brief yet informative, or a long entry yet fun to read. Choose a topic that would make people come back for more.

What more can a blog offer?

People can also leave comments or questions on your blog entries which you should also give time in answering. A blog can also do marketing for you and eventually earn from it. You can also be an affiliate of companies online and earn from every click made by your readers. For example, you become an affiliate of a resort or airline company.

Once you have uploaded their banner or ad on your website, you get paid each time a person clicks on their ad. You can even earn money while you are sleeping, at work or doing household chores!

Thanks,
PV Reymond
