It’s very important to write high quality headlines that send strong message about what might be in the body of the article for the reader. It is normal human nature to identify the whole body by seeing its face.
So, if your headline is beautiful and tells what the reader wants then they are certainly going to read across the whole article. According to a survey, four out of five people only read headline and nothing more than that. So, as a writer you should be able to convey your message in those few words.
Headlines being confined in few words make its very hard for a writer to write it precisely. You cannot increase the length of the headline nor can you mold it to insert fake words. It should be precise and straight to the point. But once you jump in writing your article there are few things that you should take care of.
Ask a Question:
Did you read the headline of this article? It is asking a question. Everyone loves getting an answer for a specific question. If you ask a question in your headline then most people are going to read through the article in search of an answer. People are curious in nature and they want the answer for everything they see and feel. So, asking a question in headline like, How to, Why, etc and any other variant of question can create a curiosity among the reader tempting him to read the whole article/salesletter.
Give the reader more benefit from your article. Write about things that can help a reader solve a problem in his life. They are going to read the article for their problem’s solution.
Top Ten Ideas:
You don’t have to research hard to bring the ten best ideas or it simply doesn’t have to be the top ten. But people will love reading through the ten best things of an industry. Readers always want expert advice and when they see some one sorting out the ten best things then they simply get interested in it.
Give Them Proof:
Customers always love to see proof up front before they decide on a point. If you are writing to promote a service or product then give your earlier customers testimonial in the headline. Though you might not have made any sale from it but just adding some reference can make your headline look extra ordinary and will surely generate a excitement within the customers.
Be Creative:
Headline of an article depends on what you write in the article. Be creative and try to jot down some ideas before you write it finally. DO some brainstorming session and ask for some advice. You can surely get some stunning ideas from your surrounding too.
Remember, readers always look for some benefits for them in the article. So, they will only read it if they feel they might be benefited from your writing. Give a hint of benefit what they might get from the article. This can be a great marketing strategy as it will help people turn to your writings.
