ClickBank Said: “No More One Time Offers.”

It seems that ClickBank no longer allows One Time Offers (OTO).

Here is the ClickBank’s TOS:

…It is very important to give customers what they want as rapidly as possible. Do not present the customer with advertisements or links to things that they did not purchase. Senseless distractions will confuse and annoy customers, and will greatly increase your risk of losses due to refunds or disputed sales and increase customer complaints…

An OTO is (in this case) when the person after paying for a product is redirected to a page offering a product at a special price that sees only that time instead to the Thank You Page, where is the download link.

This is going to affect a lot of people – ClickBank publishers and affiliates. They use this kind of strategy to make more money and now this is money they are not going to make.

And it seems that old products will have to be fixed removing the OTO.

Now they are brainstorming about this…Maybe someone will create a script or something similar.

OTO’s are powerful, because the customer is in heat and excited making the purchase, that’s a good moment to offer another product.

The point is that many people use OTO’s but offer unrelated products and this means that they focus on making more money not on helping the customer.

An OTO should be a complementary product. For example if you are selling an eBook, your OTO could be an mp3 audio of the eBook.

I am sure that a solution will be found…In the meantime no more OTO’s with ClickBank.

I am quieted and relaxed, because I do not have been using OTO’s – There are many other ways to upsell.
