Many people are afraid of approaching experts in order to build relationships and Joint Ventures because they think the expert won’t consider the proposal.
Experts are busy and don’t like to waste time, for this reason you have to approach them in the right way.
Here are 3 easy ways:
1. Before you approach the expert you have to know very well what he/she likes, it could be his/her hobby, sport, the kind of food he/she prefers, and then if you have the same passion you could contact him/her and say:
“Hey, I know you like basketball and you like X player, you know what? I like basketball and X player too. Do you think he will be the MVP this year?” Or something like that and you’ll see that he/she will get back to you.
2. Promote his/her products as an affiliate, of course they have to be high quality. Then if you make some sales you can approach him/her saying that you have been selling his/her products, you tell a little about yourself and about why you admire him/her.
3. Buy some of his/her products. Then you say that you bought product X from him/her, that it is helping you to move forward, that it has inspired you to create a new product, etc. At this point the expert will get back to you and you’ll have the opportunity to ask him/her for a review or Joint Venture.
It is all about relationships, if the expert doesn’t know you, you’ll have a hard time trying to leverage him/her. The point is that you have to create a relationship, a friendship before asking him/her to promote your product or look at your business.
So, if you have been thinking about approaching an expert for a review or Joint Venture but you didn’t know how to do it, now you know 3 easy ways and don’t say that it won’t work. Just go ahead and approach him/her RIGHT NOW!
